The Role of AI in Industrial Monitoring
AI safety monitoring can analyse suitable camera views and flag defined conditions for review. An alert can include the relevant location, time and event category so that staff can decide what action is appropriate.
AI video analytics is intended to assist monitoring and should not replace appropriate certified safety systems, procedures or human supervision where these are required.
AI analytics does not guarantee workplace safety. Safety responsibilities and required controls remain with the appropriate qualified people and systems.

Design Around the Site and the Response
For an AI CCTV project in Singapore, assess camera coverage, lighting, occlusion, distance, weather exposure and the activity to be monitored. Existing cameras may be usable where their view, resolution and permitted interfaces are suitable.
Agree who receives each alert, how events are reviewed and what happens when analytics is unavailable. Test false alarms and missed events using representative site conditions before relying on operational notifications.
Define authorised access, recording purposes, retention and handling of footage before deployment. Use the information for the approved monitoring purpose and review applicable workplace and data requirements.
